Matthew 10:27-28

When we Wait

Mar 18, 2025 by Addison Crissone
And the Lord answered me: "Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end-
it will not lie. if it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come;
it will not delay."
- Habukkuk 2:2-3

We all find ourselves in seasons of waiting from time to time.
A few weeks ago, I was meditating on these particular verses as I found myself in a sort of waiting period. I have claimed these verses on several occasions in my bible, and have spent many nights praying over them as I ask God for the strength to wait on Him.
But there is one little thing.
I am not patient.
You can ask anyone who knows me, and they will agree that I am not skilled in patience.
I get an idea in my head and I want to pursue it at that moment. Unfortunately, it seldom happens that way with God and His timing.
God's framework of time is obviously very different than ours. A thousand years is as one day to Him (2 Peter 3:8).
If any of this sounds familiar to you my friend, then remember-
The dreams and words that God has given you take time to come to fruition. But that does not mean that He will not fulfill them. God has woven into your heart a gift and a dream so that you can invest your time in meaningful pursuits that make your heart come alive and make others' hearts come alive also.
If it seems slow in coming, wait.
It's on its way.
It will come right on time.
The waiting season is not unfamiliar to human nature, and it is not unfamiliar to God.
He will direct you as you feel lost, and he will keep you secure as you remain faithful to what He has given you to do.
Eventually, His perfect plan will be revealed to you.

Just stay faithful.
