Addison Crissone
The Story Behind the Stories
At 16, Addison Crissone wrote an 11-page essay for a contest about WWII Belgium. It
wasn’t an essay — it was the beginning of The Yellow Badge, her debut novel.
Two years later, she’s a Christy Award finalist with two published novels and a third on the
way. As one of Triplet sisters, her sisters design her covers and proofread her manuscripts. She works at her
family’s food truck by day and writes by night.
She doesn’t write because she’s chasing a dream. She writes because God called her to it.
Dear Readers,
I am so glad you are here! My name is Addison Ruth Crissone- author, blogger, beach lover, history buff, storyteller, and your devoted sister in Christ. I am the oldest of three homeschooled triplet sisters, Laney and Caitlyn being my best supports and co-conspirators since the very beginning, when I stood on a tree stump in our parents' yard speaking my own version of jibber-jabber at the age of three.
You would be surprised to know that the three-year-old girl on her pedestal would later become a shy young woman who never spoke unless spoken to, who hid behind the stories in the books she loved so much, and got lost in the stories she wove in her own mind, doubting if she would ever be "brave enough" to pursue writing.
But then God got a hold of me.
My parents raised my sisters and me in church, and there was never a day that I remember not knowing Jesus. I got saved at the age of six in 2013, but it was not until just after my sixteenth birthday in 2023 that I recommitted my life to God and surrendered to His plan for me.
At that time, it felt as though God was asking me to lay down my dream of writing- and pick up the idea of missions instead. I was heartbroken and terrified. But I realized then that to pursue my dream, I had to lay it down first. God was not asking me to forget my dream, but to lay it down. And it was through the laying down of my writing that it became my mission- my calling.
And what a journey it has been in the years since.
After various radio and television interviews, book signings, and events, I have written nearly six books and published two.
Through my writing, I pull from my deep-rooted faith in the God of this world and the stories and accounts that decorate and color our past with the reminder of God's faithful plan for His children throughout history. I want my readers to find evidence of a living God when they read my stories, and I want you to be encouraged to know and love Him on a personal level- and to commit your life to Him.
This was my hope when I first started publishing faith-based blogs in April of 2023, titled Flock of Grace Blogs, and it remains my steadfast hope today. Throughout my almost nineteen years of life, I have experienced grief, hardships, and heartaches that have only proved to me the guiding hand of Jesus in my life.
My prayer is that through my writings, through the books, poems, blogs, and devotions that will prayerfully extend to you throughout my career, you find the enduring love of God, and I hope you will leave this site encouraged and equipped with the knowledge of His salvation.
Truly, Addison Crissone
"But these [stories] are written so
that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God, and that believing you may have
life in his name."
