For Good

What is Good?
How can we know that 'all things work together for good' when many things in our lives don't seem so good at all?
See and Believe
Apr 15, 2025 by Addison Crissone
Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus' head, not lying with he linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. Then the disciples went back to their homes."

Called to be Courageous
Apr 01, 2025 by Addison Crissone
The other day, I had an interviewer ask me what courage means to me.
This was my response:
"Courage to me means doing what it's asked of you without the fear of man, or the fear of the consequences. You just do it."

When we Wait
Mar 18, 2025 by Addison Crissone
And the Lord answered me: "Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end-
it will not lie. if it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come;
it will not delay."
- Habukkuk 2:2-3

Tragedy
Mar 11, 2025 by Addison Crissone
There are no tragedies in the Bible.
Why?
Because in the ancient Hebrew language, there is no word for tragedy. Hebrew culture believed that if God had not redeemed a situation, then He was not done with it.

Resurrection Ground

It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown in natural body;
it is raised as a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Hosanna in the Highest!
Dec 31, 2024 by Addison Crissone
"Hosanna" is used to express a cry for help, as a declaration of the need for salvation, and as a request for freedom. We all need help. And we all need to be rescued at some point or another.
It is by exclaiming that Jesus is Hosanna that we are saved: we are expressing our belief and trust in Jesus that he can (and will) save us.

In the Face of Evil
Dec 03, 2024 by Addison Crissone
The Yellow Badge is a symbol of shame and reproach for those who wear it.
But for some, it's a call to action.
In the harrowing days of WW2, silence was survival.
Do not rebel.
Do not act.
Do not speak.
But what would you do if silence was a sin?
What would you do in the face of evil?
A Reason to Be Thankful
Nov 26, 2024 by Addison Crissone
The Holidays are truly the best time of the year.
What if grief overshadows the joy of the holiday season?
And what if we struggle to find a reason to be thankful even on Thanksgiving?
