His Plan

When we read the story of the Israelites crossing the Red Sea in Exodus 13 and 14, we encounter a miraculous account that is difficult for us to wrap our minds around. It is the story of a miracle-working God blessing His disobedient and ungrateful children.
There are, of course, always those who say,
“But God could have just delivered them by some miracle without making them cross the Red Sea.”
Yes, He certainly could have.
But what we read here is not an account that is questioning His ability, for He certainly can do it.
Rather, it is a question of the way God wants to do it. He is following a plan. His plan.
And it is necessary.

Far too often, we expect God to perform a variety of miracles for our own sake and benefit- and we feel as if He should. We think it is His job, His duty. But it isn’t.
Because of this, we get angry and upset when the things we pray for do not happen, and the circumstances we are in do not align with what we wanted.
Friend, He does not owe us the miracle we are waiting on and longing for. And He certainly does not owe us His salvation.
Yet, He gives it to us.
Because He loves us that much.
And because He loves us, we can be certain that any miracle He gives is exactly what He appointed, and done according to His plans and purposes.
