PRAISE FOR ADDISON CRISSONE
“A beautifully written tale from a talented and faith-filled young artist!
The Yellow Badge is a beautifully written story of a young lady who finds her strength and her voice through faith in the most challenging times any human could endure. The author does an amazing job of portraying the main character's heart-wrenching journey as her love for her God and her family serve as the driving forces that allow her to continue moving forward when everything around her is falling apart. Addison Crissone is wise beyond her years. Her faith also shines through in this initial work that is undoubtedly going to be the first of many great stories to come!”
- Mindee Macias
“Uplifting novel that projects Christianity during a dark period in our history.
I was deeply inspired by The Yellow Badge, which masterfully weaves together historical events, Christian faith, sacrifices, and the courageous fight for freedom, even in the face of death, creating a truly uplifting and motivational novel.”
- Daphne Waugh
“A hauntingly beautiful tale of faith and resistance.
The Yellow Badge is a breathtaking and emotionally stirring story of courage, conviction, and the power of resistance during one of history’s darkest chapters. Addison Crissone masterfully brings to life the inner world of Ruth DeVos, a young Jewish woman swept into the heart of WWII Belgium, whose pen becomes her weapon and her faith, her shield. With richly drawn characters, lyrical prose, and a deeply rooted message of hope, this novel is both a tribute to those who fought with unseen bravery and a reminder of the light that lives even in the deepest shadows. A must-read for historical fiction lovers, especially those drawn to stories of resilience, faith, and the enduring human spirit.”

“Great debut.
“I think you will be surprised that something so good has come from someone so young. Ms. Crissone has done her homework on the subject. I'm happy to recommend this book and also recommend following this young writer - I believe you will see great things from her.”
- Blake Arledge
“A very different look at the Holocaust.
I really liked this book! The story is great, character development excellent, and the writing is superb…almost poetic in quality. I don’t much like books regarding the holocaust as they are very depressing to me. But not this one. Buy it - read it. You won’t be sorry.”
- Robert Beaseley
“Couldn’t put it down!
A real page turner! It captures your attention by page 2 and keeps you wanting to read more. Captivating and very well written. A great historical story, I fully enjoyed it and look forward to another book by this wonderful, talented Author.”
- Cindy Paige
“Beautifully written and intensely moving.
Finishing The Yellow Badge up now and just wanted to pop on to say it is absolutely incredible. The way Addison painted pictures of some of the most intensely terrible and simultaneously beautiful moments in our history is inspiring. She has a long, long life ahead as a writer, and I cannot wait to read what she comes up with next. Kudos to her!!”
- Amy Patterson
“Incredibly well written!
This book is incredibly well written! I thoroughly enjoyed “getting to know” each of the characters. I questioned if such a heavy topic could truly draw a reader in. Crissone did not disappoint! Historically researched, relatable characters, and a fantastic storyline leave me longing for the story to continue!”
- Kristina Lee
“The generation and story of crimes against Jews in World War 2.
This book is very well written. It was hard to put it down. The love story was sweet, and the subject matter was a story everyone should know. I would recommend this book to everyone. Can't wait for future books by this author. She had won my heart.”
- Janice Blanton
“A stunning first novel full of heart.
“This book immediately drew me in. Addison Crissone delivers an emotional and gripping story set in World War II Belgium. Ruth’s journey — her family torn apart, her fight to stay safe, and her struggle to hold onto faith — feels incredibly real and moving. The historical details are vivid, and the themes of courage and resilience shine throughout.
This is a beautifully written, memorable debut that stays with you long after you turn the last page. I’m already looking forward to whatever she writes next.”
-Avery Smith
"The Yellow Badge offers a great read that gives off the authenticity of the world set in the 1940’s. Persecution and war are in the air as the Jewish communities are threatened and forced into hiding. Who will step up and help those that are in harm’s way? This story will challenge the reader into discovering what “faith” really is and how one person can make a difference! Enjoy this journey as the days of World War 2 are the backdrop of this novel that is enhanced by the story of Ruth DeVos and her fight against those that are out to do harm to Ruth and her people. Will she find her calling from the Yellow Badge?
Ms. Crissone does an excellent job of taking the reader down the winding road into World War 2 and what it must have been like to be on the side of oppression as the war progressed. You will be enthralled by this tale of faith and courage as the people and places along the way break into the story of Ruth DeVos and her family's lives, while the war rages. Be prepared to not be prepared as this novel surely won’t be the last literation from this first time author and Crissone will surely capture your imagination as your mind turns the pages through the Yellow Badge!"
